Cambodia has on Friday morning deployed six tanks and a large number of troops along Thai-Cambodia border nearby Preah Vihear temple.
The reinforcement of tanks and military force showed that Cambodia is ready for war against Thailand. It was reported that Thai troops have built 20 large-scaled bunkers at their boarder strongholds in preparation for the possible intrusion.
Chief of the Sao Thong Chai Tambon Administrative Organisation in Si Sa Ket’s Kantharaluck district, Boonmee Buatan, said he had warned local villagers to refrain from traveling to border area near the Khmer ancient temple for their safety. He had coordinated with relevant state agencies to get ready for evacuating people in case the fighting takes place.
