Human Rights Party holds the 1st convention on Sunday

Human Rights Party (HRP) under Kem Sokha’s leadership just delivered the invitation letters to national and international journalists to join the 1st HRP National Council’s Convention which will hold on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at its headquarter, No.72-74, St.598, Sangkat Boeun Kok II, Khan Tuol Kork, Phnom Penh.

Yem Ponhearith, HRP general secretary and MP of Prey Veng constituency told RFA that the National Council’s Convention will be held every two years according to HRP By-law and internal regulation.

Yem Ponhearith said, “The 1st importance of the convention is to report the past two years activities to the national councils to review whether or not HRP leaders implemented accurately. The 2nd one HRP leaders will raise the future strategic policy of the party for implementation next two years and also put them in the discussion agenda whether HRP should insert what strategic plan and policy or not.”

“Around 300 party national councils will participate in the convention at HRP Headquarter and we will put the topic of Alliance between HRP and SRP into discussing agenda.” he added, “As I already mentioned, the importance of the convention is next work, how should we do for The Democratic Alliance?”
