Mrs. Mu Sochua finds a new defense lawyer

SRP MP Mu Sochua, who saw her parliamentary immunity suspended, said that she found a new defense lawyer to replace Kong Sam Onn who asked to stop being her lawyer.

Mrs. Mu Sochua told The Cambodia Daily on Thursday that lawyer Sok Sam Oeun, the executive director of the legal defense group of Cambodia – a legal help NGO –, had accepted to defend her in the defamation lawsuit brought up by Hun Sen against her.

Mrs. Mu Sochua told The Cambodia Daily that: “Mr. Sok Sam Oeun accepted my request if the court authorizes him to replace my former lawyer.” She added that she is 100% confident in Sok Sam Oeun because he is brave and nobody can pressure him. The Cambodia Daily reported that it could not contact Sok Sam Oeun to obtain his comment.
