Vietnamese police say they about to start their annual two-month campaign to combat human trafficking to places such as China and Cambodia.
Hanoi police say the campaign starts next week and focuses on areas bordering China in the north and Cambodia in the south.
National officials will coordinate operations with institutions in China, Cambodia and Laos.
Police say they have uncovered 200 cases of slavery so far this year.
Thousands of Vietnamese women are believed to be trafficked every year and forced to work as prostitutes or to marry men they do not know.
