Activists from Thailand's People Alliance for Democracy (PAD) have clashed with police and villagers in the northeast of the country.
The protesters are trying to hold a demonstration at the ancient Preah Vihear temple on the Cambodian border, which both countries claim.
Meanwhile, a separate group of demonstrators are gathering in Bangkok to mark the third anniversary of the coup which ousted controversial PM Thaksin Shinawatra.
