A member of the spokesmen group for the Council of Ministers’ Press and Quick Reaction Unit (PQRU) reacted to reports published by Thailand’s The Nation and the Bangkok Post at the beginning of October 2009. These reports attacked Hun Xen strongly and they affected his honor and dignity, following the declaration made by Hun Xen on 28 September about his strong stance in the defense of Cambodia’s territorial integrity against Thailand’s aggression.

Tith Sothea, a government advisor and one of the PQRU spokesmen, said over the phone in the afternoon of 07 October 2009 that Thailand’s The Nation reported in the beginning of October that Hun Xen threatened to kill anyone – civilians or soldiers – who cross the border to enter Cambodian territories at Preah Vihear temple.

Tith Sothea said that The Nation indicated in its editorial that using “bullet” is not a civilized act, and the Thai newspaper also criticized that the use of bullets is aimed at creating a distribution of money to the people from both countries (KI-Media note: this statement makes no sense at all). The Nation commented that it wants to see Hun Xen paying attention on Khmer people instead.
