Deputy Prime Minister overseeing security and Democrat Party secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban on Thursday declined to counter Cambodia's premier Hun Sen after he said the Thai-Cambodian relations will not improve if the Democrat-led government is still in office."I will not respond to Prime Minister Hun Sen's comment because the situation isn't good at the moment," Mr Suthep said. "The Thai government must be patient against criticisms frequently made by Cambodia."
He said the government planned to send back Thai ambassador Prasas Prasasvinitchai back to Phnom Penh but the diplomatic ties between the two countries would not improve if Cambodia still had an unyielding stance.
