Former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra is expected to arrive in Cambodia to meet a countryman jailed for spying on him last month.
Siwarak Chothipong is due to be released from prison on Monday, after the Cambodian King pardoned him.
He was jailed for seven years for passing Thaksin's flight details to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh.
Thaksin's visit to Cambodia last month caused a diplomatic row with Bangkok. Phnom Penh refused to extradite him to Bangkok to serve a two-year jail term for corruption.
The Cambodian government's appointment of Thaksin as an economic advisor made matters worse. Thaksin was ousted in a military coup in 2006 and is living in exile to avoid a jail term for graft.
