VIENTIANE, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Nguyen Huu Viet set the first new games record for Vietnam in swimming here at the ongoing 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) by 9:00 a.m local time (GMT+7) on Saturday.
Finishing first in 01:01.60 in the men's 100m breaststroke which started late Friday evening, the 21-year-old rewrote the 25th Games record set by Indonesian Indra Gunawan in the same event held earlier in Friday morning.
Indonesian Indra Gunawan rewrote the old record of 01:02.96 set by Malaysian Elvin Chia at the 24th SEA Games in 2007 in Thailand.
