Cambodian border defense troops along the top of Phnom Dangrek Mountain at Ta Krabei temple reported that 6 armed Thai black-clad soldiers equipped with a machine gun attempted to enter Ta Krabei temple located inside Cambodian territories in the morning of 11 Feb. The Thai soldiers wanted to set up camp near the temple.
On Thursday afternoon, an anonymous Cambodian army officer from Unit 421 stationed in Ta Krabei temple, located in Kauk Khpous commune, Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, said that 6 Thai soldiers tried to enter the perimeter of Ta Krabei temple at 8:30 AM. However at about 50-meter from the temple, they met with Cambodian soldiers stationed there who chased them back to Thailand.
The same army source indicated: “They were all armed, they had 4 AK-47s and a machine gun. Their goal was to come and tell us to get out of there. They entered 50-meter when they met my defense line, and I chased them back!”
