“Dancing Across Borders” tells of a poor but talented Cambodian boy who is brought to the United States to become a world-class ballet dancer.
But there is another tale here as well.
Anne Bass, who also directed, is a philanthropist who plucked Sokvannara known as Sy (pronounced See ) Sar from a troupe of Temple Dancers in 2000 and brought him to New York City. There she mentored his intensive training with the prestigious School of American Ballet.
