The family members of a karaoke star who was the victim of an acid attack more than 10 years ago have fled Cambodia and are now living in Holland, where they say they will continue to fight for justice of others.
The family of Tat Marina, who was allegedly doused with acid by the jealous wife of a government official in 1999, arrived in Holland earlier this month.
“So long as there are such attacks, I cannot sleep, and I feel [perpetrators] should be given a harsh lesson,” Tat Sreypov, the sister of Tat Marina, told VOA Khmer by phone Thursday. “My sister was not the last one. There are others who have fallen victim.”
