Former Khmer monarch Norodom Sihanouk will perform a 4-day official visit to Vietnam at the end of June based on an invitation from the Viet president Nguyen Minh Triet with the aim of strengthening the cooperation and tightening the solidarity between the two countries which had a common history of fighting against colonialism and imperialism.
Um Daravuth, an official of the Royal Palace, indicated on Sunday that Sihanouk’s visit plan will not change and will start on 22 June, it will last until 25 June.
The former king visited Vietnam in the beginning of the 90s in his capacity as leader of Cambodia, following his and Queen Monineath’s return to Cambodia on 15 November 1991. At their return to Cambodia, Hun Xen accompanied the royal couple from Beijing to Phnom Penh.
