Appeal to hit-run driver to come forward

The parents of a 13-year-old boy brain damaged in a hit-and-run in Sydney's west last Australia Day are appealing for the driver to hand himself in to police.

Vissal Um had only been living in Australia six weeks when he was hit by a black Toyota Hilux while riding his bike on Sackville Street at Canley Vale about 8.25pm (AEST) on January 26.

Vissal and his bike were dragged 20 metres by the car, which did not stop and continued along Pevensey Street.
