The Thai parliament is to debate a draft Khmer-Thai border agreement today (Wednesday 2nd September) when the debate was postponed on Monday, after the opposition parties grilled the government on border issues with Cambodia.
Minister of Defence Prawit Wongsuwan was unable to answer the questions when he was grilled by opposition MPs and the debate was abruptly cancelled by the Speaker of the parliament, Mr. Chai Chidchob.
Mr. Chai Chidchob, who is also a Khmer Surin, said the debate was postponed to Wednesday in order to give more time to the Defence Minister to prepare his answers.
