China has signed a substantial development package with Cambodia, just days after the Cambodian authorities repatriated 20 ethnic Uighur asylum seekers to China.
The deals are worth some $1.2bn (€840m, £750m). Phnom Penh's repatriation on Saturday of 20 ethnic Uighurs from Xinjiang province brought widespread protest from the United Nations and western governments.
The Chinese authorities said the Uighurs were suspected criminals who were facing investigation.
