Cambodia hosts ASEAN police conference

PHNOM PENH, May 24, 2010 (Xinhua) -- The 30th ASEANAPOL (Association of Southeast Asian Nations Chiefs of National Police) conference opened here Tuesday to further strengthen cooperation and mutual assistance among the police forces of the ASEAN member countries and the dialogue partners.
The official opening ceremony was held under the presidency of Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng.
Nearly 300 high-ranking police officers from the ten ASEAN member countries and the dialogue partner countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the representatives of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and Interpol attended the four-day conference.
