The cabinet has on Wednesday passed resolutions opposing the endorsement of Cambodia’s management plan for Preah Vihear ancient temple by the World Heritage Committee, reports said, citing an informed source at Government House.
The resolutions are;
1) The Thai government opposes Cambodia’s management plan for the ancient temple that infringes upon the disputed border area.
2) The Thai government will review its membership at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco), if the international agency endorses the management plan, and
3) The Foreign Ministry is assigned to send letters informing the cabinet’s resolutions to the Unesco and the meeting of the World Heritage panel in Brasilia, Brazil.
