HA NOI — The National Border Committee must resolutely protect the country's land and sea areas as well as respect the territorial sovereignty and national borders of neighbouring countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement yesterday at a ceremony to mark the 35th anniversary of the committee where it was awarded with the title of Labour Hero.
In his address, Dung reiterated the Party and State's consistent policy of firmly protecting national border security, sovereignty and territorial integrity under all circumstances.
He directed the committee, which is under the Foreign Ministry, to continue boosting negotiations with neighbouring countries to define national borders and build border lines of peace, friendship, stability and co-operation for development on both land and sea.
