Survivor contestant dies on first day of filming in Cambodia

A CONTESTANT on the French version of reality show, Survivor, has died on the first day of filming in Cambodia.
25-year-old Gerald Babin suffered a series of cardiac arrests after competing in a tug-of-war challenge on the program, called Koh-Lanta.
Channel TF1 and Adventure Line Productions made an immediate decision to cancel the program.
"It is not really a question," said a spokesman for Channel TF1, "everyone is being flown back to France.”
"Adventure Line Productions, TF1 and [host] Denis Broginart are devastated and join in the profound sadness of Gerald’s family,” they added in a statement.
Babin was reportedly attended to by a medic after complaining of cramps in his arms after the tug-of-war challenge.
He died while being airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
The production company said contestants had recieved extensive medical testing as part of the selection process.
