Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s plan to visit Cambodia is solely for commanding the planned mass ant-government protest by the red-shirts, Deputy Prime Minister for security affairs Suthep Thaugsuban said.
“Thaksin’s trip to Phnom Penh is not surprising. It is known that Thaksin has joined hands with Hun Sen to use Cambodia as his political command base as it is nearer than his Dubai base”, Mr Suthep said on Friday.
He was confident the government would be able to pass through the red-shirts mass rally scheduled for Feb without any problem.
