Mr. Kem Sokha's meaningful message to young people

 I recently held a public forum close to the boarder of Cambodia and Thailand, where a young Cambodian laborer told me that his boss, a Thai businessman, advised his Cambodian laborers that "if you don't change your Prime Minister, don't expect your life to change, and all of you will be my slaves forever." Let me remind you what the world's greatest genius Albert Einstein said: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." That is, if you keep voting for the same leader over and over again and expect to see different policies, then you are insane. Don't you think that accepting 2 decades of the same corrupt leadership is insane? So this year, when you go to vote, I beg you please vote for sanity, vote for the better of your life, vote for Sangkrous Jeat!

Rainsy tells election observers to stay away

International observers from democratic countries and respected organizations will not come to observe communist-style elections. The result of such fake elections will not be recognized as legitimate because it will not reflect the will of the Cambodian people. Any government stemming from such illegitimate elections will be likewise considered as illegitimate. Then the Cambodian people will have the right and will be given the means to remove from power any illegitimate and illegal government.

Appeals Court To Hear Suit Against Opposition Leader

Opposition members of the Sam Rainsy Party say they want a delay in an upcoming hearing in a lawsuit brought against the party leader by a top ruling party official.

Foreign Affairs Minister Hor Namhong is suing Sam Rainsy for comments he made that linked the minister to the Khmer Rouge, during a speech in 2008.

Sam Rainsy was found libel in the suit, which carries criminal penalties, by a lower court, which sentenced him to two years in jail and a fine of $2,000,

The Appeals Court announced last week it would hold a hearing on that decision on March 12.

SRP spokesman Yim Sovann told VOA Khmer that the party has been unable to find a lawyer to represent Sam Rainsy, who remains in exile abroad, and has requested from the Appeals Court a postponement of the hearing.

However, at least one defense lawyer in Phnom Penh, Choung Chou Ngy, says he has not received a request from the party to defend  its leader.

Hor Namhong sued Sam Rainsy for defamation and incitement, for remarks made during a Khmer Rouge remembrance ceremony at the killing fields of Choeung Ek, outside the capital, in 2008.

The two-year sentenced handed down from the lower court adds to 10 years imprisonment Sam Rainsy is already facing, for charges related to his uprooting border markers in Svay Rieng province in 2009.

ភ្នំពេញ ៖ មន្រ្តីជាន់ខ្ពស់ ក្នុងគណបក្សប្រឆាំង សម រង្ស៊ី បានអះអាងនៅថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ២០១៣ថា ក្នុងការបោះឆ្នោតជ្រើសតាំងតំណាងរាស្រត្តនីតិកាលទី៥ នាខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ២០១៣ ខាងមុខនេះ គណបក្សសម រង្ស៊ី និងគណបក្សសិទ្ធិមនុស្សនឹងមិនដាក់ឈ្មោះក្នុងបញ្ជីបេក្ខភាព បោះឆ្នោតឆ្នាំ២០១៣នោះដាច់ដោយឡែកៗទេ ហើយលោក សម រង្ស៊ី នៅតែជាប្រធានបក្ស សង្គ្រោះជាតិរហូតទៅ។ 

លោកស្រី មូរ សុខហួរ សមាជិកសភាមកពីគណបក្សប្រឆាំង សម រង្ស៊ី បានមានប្រសាសន៍ នៅក្នុងសន្និសីទ កាសែតមួយនៅថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ២០១៣ នាវិមានរដ្ឋសភាជាតិកម្ពុជា ថា លោកសម រង្ស៊ីនៅពេលនេះក៏ដូចជាថ្ងៃអនាគតនៅតែជាប្រធានគណ បក្សសង្គ្រោះជាតិដដែល គ្មានអ្នកណានិយាយ ថា លោក សម រង្ស៊ី មិនអាច ធ្វើជាប្រធាន គណបក្សសង្គ្រោះជាតិ បានទៀតនោះទេ ។ 

លោកស្រី បន្តថា «ខ្ញុំសូមបញ្ជាក់ជាថ្មីទៀត គណបក្សសមរង្ស៊ី និងនិងគណបក្សសិទ្ធិមនុស្ស នឹងមិនដាក់ឈ្មោះក្នុងបញ្ជីបេក្ខភាពបោះឆ្នោតឆ្នាំ២០១៣នោះទេ គឺមានតែបញ្ជីរួមគណបក្ស សង្គ្រោះជាតិតែមួយគត់»។ 

លោកស្រី មូរ សុខហួរ បានបញ្ជាក់ថា ក្នុងការបោះឆ្នោតជ្រើសតាំងតំណាងរាស្រ្ត នីតិកាលទី៥ ក្នុងខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ២០១៣ ខាងមុខនេះលោក សម រង្ស៊ី នឹងវិលត្រឡប់ចូលមកក្នុងប្រទេស កម្ពុជាវិញ។ 

ហើយសំណួរយើងសួរទៅកាន់អ្នកកាន់អំណាច បច្ចុប្បន្នថាតើ ទៅប្រជែងក្នុងការបោះឆ្នោត ដោយខ្លួនឯង ឬមួយក៏មានភាពក្លាហាន ក្នុងការរកគូរប្រជែងជាមួយ ដោយស្មើភាពគ្នា ហើយមានតែការបោះឆ្នោតដោយសេរី និងយុត្តិធម៌ទេ ដែលអាចដោះស្រាយអនាគតខ្មែរបាន។ 

លោកស្រីបន្ថែមថា “បើសិនជានាយករដ្ឋមន្រ្តីនៅតែដដែលតើចំណេញដល់ប្រទេសកម្ពុជាដែរឬទេ តើយើង សង្ឃឹមថា នាយករដ្ឋមន្រ្តីចាស់នៅអាណត្តិថ្មី នឹង ដោះស្រាយបញ្ហាដែលកើតមានឡើង ទាំងអស់នោះទេ គឺអត់ដោះស្រាយទេ។ ដូច្នោះយើងមិនអនុញ្ញាតទុកឲ្យកូនចៅខ្មែរយើង នៅតែធ្វើ ជាទាសករក្រុមហ៊ុនអ្នកធំ នៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជាទេហើយបញ្ហានេះ មានតែការផ្លាស់ប្តូរមេដឹកនាំ ប៉ុណ្ណោះ”។

សូមបញ្ជាក់ថា កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែតុលា ឆ្នាំ២០០៩ តុលាការកំពូល បានសម្រេចផ្តន្ទាទោស កំបាំងមុខ លោក សម រង្ស៊ី ឲ្យជាប់ពន្ធនាគារ ១២ឆ្នាំ ក្នុងរឿងដកតម្រុយបង្គោលព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា-វៀតណាម នៅស្រុកចន្ទ្រា ខេត្តស្វាយរៀង៕
